The Americans came back with more cars : the two Chryslers from last year and three Stutz. Bentley added the new Speed 6 to the three 4.4l from last year. Like the previous year one Stutz and the two Chrysler finished behind Bentley but this time there was four Bentleys at the first  four places .

33 cars at the start. A few new names : Alvis, Aston Martin...  From America came a Stutz and two Chryslers. French cars were a minority for the first time.

Only 22 cars at the start for the 1927 race. Chenard & walker and Lorraine Dietrich decided to stop racing. The Bentley Sport driven by Sammy Davies and John Benjafield won with no real opponents. Two Salmsons completed the podium. The two other Bentleys retired early in the race.

The Lorraine Dietrich won again with the first 1-2-3 of the history of the 24 hours after a fight with the Bentleys who retired one by one with all kind of problems.The winning car was driven by André Rossignol (2nd win) and Robert Bloch.

Second French victory. This time with a Lorraine Dietrich driven by Gérard De Courcelle and André Rossignol. Already second and third the previous year the Lorraine managed to hold a stronger and more international competition. A Sunbeam and another Lorraine complete the podium.

The second edition of the race saw the victory of the Bentley driven by john Duff & Frank Clement after a duel with the two Lorraine Dietrich which finished second and third followed by two Chenard & Walker.

The winner of the first edition of the "Grand Prix d'Endurance de 24 Heures" (as it was officially named) was André Lagache and René Léonard driving a Chenard et Walker Sport 3.0 L.This is also the first 1-2 finish of the history of the race: the other Chenard & Walker #10 finished second. Although this race saw a lot of rain and even hail only three cars retired out of 33 entrants.
